Doctors, dentists, and Germany..oh my!

Well the past few weeks have been interesting because I haven't felt the greatest.  I've been to the doctor more in Germany than I have in the last 10 years. It's a good thing that health care here is very good and I have found doctors that speak some English!

I was lucky that when my right ear started to hurt last week that Dr. Hossmann (our landlord) was in town.  It was bad enough for me to want to go see a doctor.  He was kind enough to call and schedule an appointment for me and took me to both the appointment and the follow-up. He also helped me get drops and checked in to make sure I was doing better.

I also went to the dentist this week and a few things happened.  First, I showed up on Wednesday and the receptionist looked at me and smiled.  My appointment was on Thursday, but her English wasn't the best when I called she said Wednesday.  I couldn't be upset because it was my fault for not knowing German.  It reinforces the need for me to start those lessons.  Oh Thursday I met with the dentist and explained my pain.  Well, after x-rays and some conversation, I ended up having a root canal on one of my back teeth. YIKES!  He did a nice job and explained everything and I felt the care was good and not too painful (I can't take pain).

So again, health care here is wonderful in my opinion and I am feeling SO MUCH better!
