October Update

As I am finding time to write about our August and September, it struck me as necessary to update about October and keep current.

My Finger
So on September 29th (Happy Birthday Phil), I was silly and cut the tip of my middle finger on my left hand opening a can of cashews.  Chad was of course out of town and thank goodness Anna was free. There was a lot of blood, Will was yelling from the bathroom, "mom, I went poo" and Jack was ready for lunch.  Long story short, thanks to Martin and Anna I was able to get my tetanus shot and had an ER visit.   I got VIP service at Martin's hospital as he escorted me around, filled out my paperwork in advance, and translated for me. Anna watched the boys and drove me. They were so wonderful! Every day I get sad thinking they won't be in the same city.

Crazy Will
It was pretty bad and luckily we were able to avoid stitches, but it made it hard to do things like type and change diapers for awhile.  It was probably good that Chad was out of town because I'm not sure he could have handled the amount of blood.  :) I'm glad I can remain calm in these situation, the harder part was not moving my finger, cleaning or doing much for a few days. Toy chaos drives me insane, so glad Will can put his toys away.
Jumping Jack!
Our Flat
We are trying to help find people to rent our flat and also sell our kitchen to the new renters.  It has been a process and a company is helping our landlord (he lives in Switzerland) list the flat and set up showings. Let me just say to keep clean flat is a bit challenging with toy cars, blocks and trains.  We have a good lead but it has been a process.  If we can get our kitchen and appliances sold that would be ideal, so we won't have to take them out of the kitchen, paint, and try to sell them on e-bay.  Keep your fingers crossed for us!
My Sweet Jack!

He'll Stand on Anything!
The Boys
They are a handful and I have no idea where they get all their energy. They play so well together now, but Jack always wants to move onto a new toy after a few minutes. He likes to look at new things and you had him a mitten or a crayon and he just looks at it and of course tries to put it in  his mouth.  :)  He climbs on everything and pushes the toy buckets around walking. His preference would be to stand.  His balance improves every day and before we know it he'll be trying to take steps (assisted of course). He is still very happy and easy going.  Jack loves watching Will will follow him around the flat and soon enough he'll be able to catch him.

He's also eating finger foods! Which makes my life easier in some ways and requires more planning in others.  He's eating chicken, mac and cheese, fruits and veggies. He tried some of my schnitzel the other night too. I'm quite impressed since no teeth have appeared yet.

Will Still Loves his Train! Especially when Jack naps
Will loves fall days and our walks because he can find sticks, run through leaves, and point out bugs and spiders. He is such a boy! He also is doing quite well on his little 2 wheel balance bike. We need to get another one so Jack can have one too.  He's a good little helper and will "wash" things when he thinks they might be dirty.  He also is very good at coming into our room at night when Jack is awake to tell us, "Jack needs you mom."  I have been impressed with how he doesn't become jealous of his brother yet.  He does occasionally ask for me to "Jack down" so I can play with him, but he's pretty great!  He also LOVES diggers and cranes and we spend a lot of time on our walks watching a construction site near our flat that has at least 5 big machines moving, digging, and hauling.  Poor Jack doesn't really think it's that interesting.

Shirts Like Daddy
We bought the boys new shirts at my favorite H&M kids section and of course when I try it on Will he goes "YEAH a shirt like Daddy!" He gets so excited about funny things.  He's quite observant.
Shirts like Daddy
Last Week I decided to shoot some pictures of the boys in the "Shirts Like Daddy."  Here are a few of the pictures.  We have had some great fall days here and I will be sad when the leaves all fall from the trees.
