Jack is a GREAT BABY!
Of course, I can only say Jack has been wonderful happy, playful, easy going baby! Well, I must say he has out-done himself the last two nights. Monday night he slept from 9:30pm to 7:30am! He gets up and I am expecting crying because of hunger, but rather I get smiles and giggles. It was pretty cute.
Tuesday night the amazing happened. I was awake around 5:00am thinking I heard Jack stirring (he's in our room until we return from the US). Well, I heard some loud explosions from his bottom and thought that their was full diaper to change. In fact there was, but I managed to change him and he kept his eyes closed. Next, I went to the bathroom to wash my hands and when I returned Chad informed me that there was probably another smelly diaper to change. I had an internal battle whether or not to change him. Could I get so lucky for him to go right back to sleep?
Well, I have this thing about having the boys sit in smelly diapers when I know about them, I CAN'T DO IT! So, I changed him, but this time he woke up. I tried really hard not to engage with him so he'd go back to sleep, BUT of course he starts to coo and smile and giggle. I was thinking that I was going to have to feed him and/or he'd be up for awhile. If fact, after enjoy a minute of smiles, I just wrapped him back up and shut off the light. He wiggled for a minute, but went to sleep. I comment on the little things that make Will happy, well this made my week!
Jack's Issue
I am pretty particular, as most who know me know. There are some things that I have some absolutes on and others where I can be patient when it comes to the boys. My two absolutes are: 1. I had the boys sitting in smelly diapers and 2. No THUMB SUCKING (especially after a conversation I had with Meg a few years ago).
I'm afraid that Jack (who doesn't really care about his pacifier) will put his fingers in his mouth and then the next thing you know he's sucking on his thumb. I'm a mean mean mom because I keep replacing the thumb with a nuk. I can take the nuk away, but not the thumb! If that's the worst thing I have going on, I'm in good shape. :)
