Smiles, Giggles, and Hands, Oh My!

This week Will was quite fun! He now smiles a lot and will stare at things and start to giggle a little. It is pretty random but we enjoy the moments in the morning and afternoon that he plays and had a big grin! He also discovered that his hands (which are often by his face) can also go into his mouth. I'm not sure they taste the best. He'll spit out his nuk and start eating his fist. :)
Sleeping...progress...regression...progress
This past week Chad was traveling and Will spent the week with Mom. He had a great routine going but when he got up at 2:00am to eat he didn't always want to go back to his bed. He also wants to lay on his tummy. He got to sleep a bit in the big bed next to mom on his tummy. I am really spoiling him and need to work on him sleeping in his own bed. :( Hopefully with Chad back in town this next week he can be stronger and put him back into the crib. He is a great cuddler. Now I am also pleased to report that Will is getting up at 2:00am to eat and sleeping until between 8:00am and 9:00am. He's been sleeping through his 6:00am feeding and eating more during his other meals. We''ll see if this lasts (it's only happened for 3 nights so far).
Peanut Butter...
Castles & HikingOn Sunday we took a short day trip to visit "one of the world's most popular hill, The Drachenfels (Dragon Rock) with its height of 312 meters and striking silhouette. it has been an attraction for people from all parts of the world for more than 100 years."
Chad also met the partner from the PWC Office this week when he was traveling. Tim was so kind and brought almost 8lbs of peanut butter for Chad and a large bag of M&Ms for me. It was very kind of him to carry the extra weight and we have a large variety of peanut butter now. We should be set until we come home.
Castles & Hiking
We drove to Koenigswinter (about 30 minutes from Koln) to take a short train ride up the hill to visit these old castle ruins. There was also a renovated building that resembled a castle as well. It has been restored since it was destroyed during WW2.

It was a bit cool and cloudy but beautiful! We enjoyed the views, the green forrest and the chance to get outside. We also realized that we need to do more research before we visit places like this because most everything is in German. We could understand bits and pieces of things, but really it was a bit difficult to fully appreciate everything.
Will was also great as we hiked down the hill, road the train, and walked around. He slept most of the time in the blue carrier that my mom made. He really did like it in there and stayed warm.

A craving for Mexican in Germany!
When we got back to Koln we decided to try a new Mexican restaurant in a near by neighborhood. It was actually really good! Will also was able to enjoy his bottle in the restaurant. They played a lot of US music in the restaurant and since it was early on a Sunday evening we had our choice of tables.
