Let it Snow...

We're back in Koln
It was nice to be back in Koln for the weekend and Chad was busy with work and laundry!  Will was happy to just spread out and roll around on his blanket. :)  We had a great time in London (and we will go back, Chad on Monday) but it was nice to get back to our flat in Germany too.  The German language doesn't seem as intimidating as it once did.

We missed the bakeries and the ice cream!  We also missed our friends here in Germany as well.  It is also crazy to think we went several weeks without driving or cooking.

Will's first Snow
On Sunday afternoon it started to snow and we were in awe.  The flakes were huge and it started to stick to the trees and the houses.  In a matter of an hour it was a winter wonderland outside, so we took Will out to see the snow and feel the flakes on his nose.  He was just looking around and of course when we put a little by his face for him to look at he wanted to see what it would taste like. :)   We were surprised to see the snowfall as were the Germans.  It is unusual for snow to fall here in November.  Luckily we had our snow tires put on while we were gone.

Happy Cruisin'
This past weekend our cruise family left for the Caribbean for the almost annual Thanksgiving cruise.  We were seriously considering making the trip, but little Will isn't old enough to go. :(  So have fun and get some sun for us! We'll be thinking of you!

Random thought
In reflecting on our time here, it is hard to believe we've been in Germany almost 8 months.  The time is going very quickly and before we know it we'll be packing  up and getting on a plane back to the US.   We are feeling settled here and now can navigate the city and the travel.  I am thankful for 2008 and all the major life changes that have made us stronger.  What a feeling of accomplishment (now if I can just learn more German). That said, I'm also excited to see what 2009 has in store and hoping for a little less excitement.
