We're almost at the walking by myself stage. Will can push his walker around and can crawl up on almost anything, but we have reached a new level-The Free Stand. Last night Chad and I were very quiet (so not to draw attention to what he was doing or he'd grab for something) and he stood by himself for 20-30 seconds unassisted. The little wide stance worked well. Randomly, I'll catch him doing it during the day for a few moments, so we're almost there. I would love for him to be walking by our trip to South Africa.
Yes Virginia, I do spoil my child!
Will has gotten his birthday, Easter, and just because he's another week older presents this week. Why wait? Not because Will can't but because I can't wait to give him things to play with and see how excited he gets. He has plenty of toys and we say this over and over he is happy with random household objects, but I still had to get him something this week.
I bought him this play tunnel at IKEA when Anna and I went on our (we've both been up since the wee hours of the morning with our little ones and we're tired, but we can always go to IKEA) shopping spree. Maybe the lack of sleep works in Will's favor. As soon as I got the tunnel out of the plastic wrap the little guy was in it. I'm hoping it will tire him out going back and forth. It also serves as a nice barricade from the living room to the kitchen. He enjoyed playing in the box that his car came in earlier in the week, I thought he'd enjoy the tunnel as well. And I was very correct!
Can you see my lonely tooth?
I'm not quite sure why I get him new things, because honestly he hasn't been the best night time sleeper lately. He has been getting up around 3am and the wakes up again around 6 or 6:30am for the day. However, day light savings is this weekend so it will be 7 or 7:30am next week!! :)
I prefer to have my feet free!
Also during our trip to IKEA, Will was in his pusher being very good! I turn around and then look at him with a big smile on his face and one sock in his mouth. I patiently put it back on and smiled at him. I look back and he's giggling again, this time he has removed both socks and thinks he is the funniest thing since Seinfeld (Phil do you like that?). Rosi is the most pleasant baby on our trip happy, sleepy, and peaceful. Will on the other hand wants out of his pusher and keeps taking his socks off. I reward this behavior by getting him a new toy! I'm going to be softer than I thought.
This is so cool!
Thank you Mom!
My eyes are tried but I am going to wait until dad gets home!
