Snow Day & Chad's Invention!

Snow Day!
We woke up this morning with a lot of snow on the ground.  A lot is about 3-4 inches and the roads were white and the trees were pretty.  It is funny to watch the cars drive so slowly in the snow and you can tell that in Cologne  they are not used to having this much "white stuff" on the ground.   Chad took a few pictures at the park near our flat.  It was a nice, sunny day and Will and Chad enjoyed some time outdoors, while Jack and I hung out at home.

Will also got some use out of his snowsuit and the playground at the park!

The Sled!
Chad decided that Will also needed a sled.  He went to IKEA and OBI (like Home Depot) and all he found was a 30 Euro saucer that wouldn't work for Will anyway.  He then got creative and came home with a cloths-basket and added a rope. Will was excited just to see the rope out and then he got really excited when he realized that he could sit in the basket.   Chad took his new invention outside, placed Will (who sat on towels and a changing pad for cushion) inside and off they went for the 10 minute walk to the park.  It helped that most people don't really shovel their sidewalks and if they did Chad just drug Will across the concrete.

Not only did Will enjoy the new, creative sled, but Chad also received several compliments at the park.  Chad was proud of his work, rigthfully so as Will was dry, he balanced his weight and even fell asleep on the ride.   Will even got his picture taken by a woman at the park.  :)

Who knows how much use we'll get out of the sled as we are having more snow than usual in Cologne, but for the weekend it was a great toy for Will and a good arm work-out for Chad!
