I haven't written a lot about German specific things lately, but I have been reminded that in Germany (maybe even Europe in general) you need a pusher if you have kids. We of course bought our first Quinny, the Buzz, pusher for Will. We spent more than I thought I ever would on a stroller, but it was completely worth every penny. We use it all the time and for me it's more necessary than a car. I take it grocery shopping, into the city center, and for walks to the park or friends' houses. We take it out in rain, snow, and even sun (when we get it).
Well, when we started traveling more we realized that it would be nice to have a smaller travel pusher, so we bought our second Quinny, the Zapp. It is small, light, we can attach the car seat to it or have the regular seat. Of course, like all pushers here, it has a rain cover which was helpful on our trip to Vienna in a rainstorm. When we travel, we really try to make the most of our time even in crappy weather. Also this pusher is light and and easy to carry in its travel bag. We have checked it in so many times that we're on bag number two. When we're not traveling, we keep it in the car. Yes, we love this one just as much as the first and each serve different purposes.
Now, that Jack has arrived, we have yet ANOTHER pusher. Yes, because when I leave now I need to take both boys. This is our Double Pusher that we were able to purchase used from a family that no longer needed it. When selecting a double pusher we had to think about getting in and out of small grocery store aisles, getting up curbs, and does it fit in the lift at our flat.
So now, we have 2 boys and 3 pushers! CRAZY! But we do use all 3 at various times. If you would have asked me 3 years ago if this would happen I would have said you were crazy, now it is just normal. We get a lot of use out of each of them, so I am glad we were able to get them, but I sit back and think...really 3!
I used the double pusher this week when I went to the store and here are some pictures. Will fell asleep and Jack was wide awake.
