We've been here over a year and we've traveled to several countries, experienced different cultures, ate local cuisine, navigated language barriers, and met some very nice people. Now we are still waiting to see if we are extending our time in Germany or returning back next March/April. I wanted to include a bit about this because the blog is meant for us to look back and remember the experience and to keep others informed and updated on our adventure.
The waiting and not being able to plan has been the hardest part of the experience. Also, trying to think if we will end up in Milwaukee or maybe after a year move to another city. I guess after moving to Germany, moving somewhere else within the US does not seem like a big deal. The difficult parts are waiting, not knowing when we will have an answer, and of course my desire to plan for what the next year brings.
We can be satisfied that we have definitely made the most of our time in Europe and will continue to do so as long as we are here. We are also very fortunate that Will has been a very good little traveler and adjusted well to time changes, food selections, and a varied nap schedule. He has also allowed us to have a different travel experience and taught us to live in the moment, sometimes you have to be flexible, maybe you don't need to see every museum, and he has been great to start conversations with local people.
We will keep everyone posted on what the next steps will be for us. At the end of the day, there will always be more to do and see, but we have crossed a lot off of our list and we are fortunate to have had this opportunity.
