We got a Car!

We picked up our Car today!

We went this morning and had a wonderful meeting at the bank with our Banker Andre! He's very kind and helped get us the cash for the car. Andre is one of the many nice Germans who have been very helpful.  We left the bank with a lot more cash than I've ever seen in my life and went to the car dealership. When we arrived we met Mrs. Schneider and she went through all the paperwork and took the cash. Yep you pay in cash! 

We went over to the car for a very thorough tutorial about all

of the buttons, gadgets, lights, and knobs.  Mrs. Schneider did a great job and gave us fresh flowers.  We then were able to take the car home.  We also got to choose our license plate!  The K (is for Koln or Kelly as Mrs. Schneider suggested) and then we got to choose 2 letters and 3 or 4 numbers. We tried a few numbers but chose one that will remind us a bit of home. 

White Asparagus

I was also inspired by Anna's dinner last Friday night so I bought 

White Asparagus and am going to try and prepare it tonight. We'll let you know how it goes.

Fried the printer...Any Advice?

This morning we had a small issue.  Usually I plug in the "black box of power conversion" and then plug in the computer and

 printer. Well, today the printer was plugged into the "black box of power conversion" and we blew a fuse when I plugged it

 into the power strip. Well, the fuse was easily flipped but the printer AC Power Adapter smelt a little funny and the printer won't power up.   I am wondering if we should just buy a new printer here or if I should just order new power cords?  I found them on e-bay pretty cheap and the printer is older.  AC Power Adapter 0950-4491 (in case anyone is wondering)  I'm a bit sad that I didn't think about unplugging it, but at least it wasn't the computer! :) Chad says we'll just buy a new printer.
